Summary and Schedule
Welcome to the EIC Tutorial on kinematic reconstruction!
This tutorial walks you through accessing the reconstructed inclusive kinematics in the ePIC simulation output, benchmarking the performance of the different reconstruction methods, and implementing and optimising the reconstruction yourself.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of CERN ROOT and/or Python/RDataFrames.
- This tutorial follows earlier tutorials in the EIC series, in particular Setting Up Your Environment.
Please take a look at the Setup page for necessary prerequisites for this lesson.
| Setup Instructions | Download files required for the lesson | |
| Duration: 00h 00m | 1. Introduction | How do I access the inclusive kinematics in the simulation output? |
| Duration: 00h 20m | 2. Performance Benchmarks | How do I determine which reconstruction method I should be using? |
| Duration: 00h 40m | 3. Manual Reconstruction | How do I reconstruct the inclusive kinematics myself? |
| Duration: 01h 00m | 4. Optimise Reconstruction | How can I improve the reconstruction when using standard methods? |
| Duration: 01h 20m | Finish |
The actual schedule may vary slightly depending on the topics and exercises chosen by the instructor.
If you have not done so already, please follow the instructions in the Setting Up Your Environment tutorial well before the start of the tutorial to ensure your system is ready.
You will need a working eic-shell and enough disk space
to download a few simulation files (a few hundred MB each) from the
Jefferson Lab xrootd server.
